Low-Noise VCO Tunes 1185 To 1225 MHz

Model SMV1205C-LF is a low-noise voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) from Z-Communications that tunes at L-band frequencies from 1185 to 1225 MHz. The RoHS-compliant source tunes with voltages from +0.5 to +2.8 VDC. It exhibits typical phase noise of -103 dBc/Hz at 10 kHz offset from the carrier with typical tuning sensitivity of 54 MHz/V. The VCO is designed to provide typical output power of +0.75 dBm when operating from a +3.3-VDC supply and 12 mA current at temperatures from -40 to +85oC. The oscillator has typical second-harmonic suppression of -17 dBc and is supplied in the firm’s industry-standard SUB-L package, which measures just 0.3 x 0.3 x 0.08 in. It is available in tape-and-reel packaging for high-volume production assembly.
