Booster Amplifier Drives Tactical Radios

Jack Browne  |  ED Online ID #20530 |  January 15, 2009

AR Modular RF has introduced its model KMW1035 RF booster amplifier for use with single-band or multiband VHF/UHF tactical radios operating from 30 to 512 MHz. The amplifier provides 50 W nominal output power over that range and features automatic band switching. It includes a ”sleep mode” to conserve power and can work effectively with a variety of modulation formats, including amplitude modulation (AM), frequency modulation (FM), and pulse modulation. The amplifier controls spurious outputs to -70 dBc and limit harmonics to typically -60 dBc. It operates on 7.5 A at +24 VDC.
