Nitronex Names Sadler
Principal Engineer
DR. ROBERT A. SADLER has been named principal
engineer for Nitronex. He has more than 27 years
of industry experience in compound semiconductor
device and process engineering. He most recently
served as technical director, devices, for Northrop
Grumman Corp., where he was responsible for the development of
GaN technology. He also previously worked at RF Micro Devices
as a principal scientist responsible for the initial pilot production of
GaN power transistors. Sadler is a senior member of the Institute
of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and a permanent
member of the IEEE Electron Device Society and Microwave Theory
& Techniques Society. He has published more than 75 technical
papers and holds 11 US patents on compound semiconductor
devices and processes.

M. JOHNSON, provost and senior vice
president for academic affairs, received
the John Fritz Medal by the American
Association of Engineering Societies for
her expertise in optics, optoelectronic
switching, and display technology.
Science Applications International Corp.
(SAIC)—DR. KATHERINE L. MORSE, an
SAIC Technical Fellow, received the
IEEE Computer Society Award for Leadership
in Modeling and Simulation—the
2007 Hans Karlsson award. Morse has
been involved in the standardization of
modeling and simulation technology for
more than a decade, making significant
contributions to several key simulation
interoperability standards.
PicoChip—JACKIE BARKER appointed to
the newly created post of VP operations;
formerly in charge of supply-chain
strategy at Clearspeed.
Indium Corp.—DAMIAN SANTHANASAMY
promoted to senior technical engineer;
formerly technical engineer for Indium’s
