Lark Engineering Develops High-Power SMT Filter

Jack Browne  |  ED Online ID #18472 |  March 12, 2008

Lark Engineering is the architect of a miniature surface-mount-technology (SMT) ceramic filter series. The filter series can handle as much as 50 W input power from 1800 to 2200 MHz. Passbands of 60 MHz are available across that range, with maximum passband insertion loss of 0.35 dB and minimum return loss of 17 dB. The maximum peak-to-peak amplitude ripple across the passband is a mere 0.2 dB. The miniature filter, which measures just 0.75 x 1.09 x 0.62 in., achieves at least 20 dB rejection of unwanted signals at 430 MHz offset from the center frequency.
