Amplifiers Boast Variable Output Impedance

Nancy Friedrich  |  ED Online ID #18202 |  February

An increasing amount of low- to mid-frequency RF applications are now being characterized by impedances other than 50 O. This trend led to the A3 amplifier family, which features an internal impedance transformer with selectable output impedance values of 12.5, 25, 50, 100, 200, and 400 O. The A3 family includes three self-contained, air-cooled, broadband solid-state amplifiers. The model 800A3 is designed for applications that require instantaneous bandwidth and high gain. When used with an RF sweep generator, it will provide a minimum of 800 W of swept power. For its part, the model 1500A3 targets applications that demand instantaneous bandwidth and high gain. When used with an RF sweep generator, it will provide a minimum of 1500 W of swept power. Lastly, the Model 5000A3 is suited for applications that call for instantaneous bandwidth and high gain. When used with an RF sweep generator, it will provide a minimum of 5000 W of swept power. Each amplifier covers the 10-kHz-to-3-MHz frequency range.
