Yokogawa Unleashes Wide-Range Optical Analyzer

Jack Browne  |  ED Online ID #17651 |  November 20, 2007

Yokogawa Electric Corp. has introduced an optical spectrum analyzer capable of measurements in the 1.2-to-2.4-micron wavelength range. Not only can the model AQ6375 optical spectrum analyzer evaluate devices uses for optical telecommunications at 1310-to-1550-nm-wavelengths, but it can also test near-infrared (near-IR) lasers, perform laser absorptive spectroscopy, and check the wide spectrum of supercontinuum (SC) optical sources. Announced earlier this month at the Measurement & Control Show 2007 Tokyo (Tokyo, Japan), the instrument offers wavelength resolution of 0.05 nm and receive sensitivity of -70 dBm. It also operates at high speed, performing measurements in 1 second or less.
