Jack Browne  |  ED Online ID #15978 |  June 26, 2007

Healthy growth is expected for the worldwide market for high-definition television (HDTV) according to a new report from IMS Research, "The Future of High-Definition TV – 2007 Edition." According to the report, the growth in satellite HDTV households over the next four years will be largely driven by the US and Western Europe. Satellite technology will remain the dominant method of reception. The market is forecast to grow to nearly 148 million HDTV households by 2011, with nearly 41 percent of those households receiving HDTV programming via satellite.
